Electronical Arcing Fault Generator
NI Kan,WU Gui-chu,YOU Ying-min (Key Laboratory of Low Voltage Apparatus Intellectual Technology of Zhejiang,Wenzhou University,Wenzhou 325002,China) Abstract:Arc fault circuit interrupter(AFCI)is in its infancy domestically. A lot of experiments need to be conducted in the developing and manufacturing procedure. The arcing fault signal generator designed in this thesis simulates the current of fault arc with power electronic component so as to improve test efficiency and repeatability. During half cycle of grid power,the power electronic component remains open and regulates current passing through by controlling its conduction level,which avoids harmonic current in switching process and transient response of external circuits. Simulation and experiments indicate that the arcing fault signal generator designed is competent in developing and testing application of AFCI.
